The "Basic Courses" for our new, and continuing leaders may be found online at https://scoutnet.scouting.org/elearning/. You'll have to create a unique user name and password before you can get started. The two central trainings are for new leaders and the level of Scout they will be working with such as Fast Start Tiger, Wolf, etc. on the Cub Scout Menu and also the Youth Protection Training may be accessed here on the General Menu. This is a mandatory training for all new leaders, and youth volunteers. There is also a Guide to Safe Scouting that can be purchased from the District Office (see link page), or a summary is provided online at: http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HealthandSafety/GSS.aspx Uniforms We always have questions on uniforms, both for the Scouts and the Leaders/Parent Volunteers. Here is a useful link about where patches go, etc. Where to get uniforms is at either our District Office on Grand Avenue, or through ScoutStuff.org - see the links page for more information. http://www.geocities.com/~Pack215/uniform.html And, for the Official Guide it can be purchased for about $5.00. http://www.scoutstuff.org/BSASupply/ItemDetail.aspx?cat=01RTL&item=33066 Leader RecognitionIt is our hope at Pack 44 to recognize every Leader and every Parent Volunteer in a manner fitting their service to the Scouts, the Pack and the District. We feel strongly that the same principle of recognition that serves the Scouts, should also serve the efforts of the Leaders and Parent Volunteers. For formal recognition, there are requirements for Den Leaders, Committee Members, etc. and these adult awards are Recognition Square Knots. There are several sites that list the requirements for these knots, and as a Leader or Parent Volunteer in Pack 44 you may be eligible for one. Speak with the Cubmaster and Pack Trainer to make sure you're on tack to get recognized.
